Till the year 2009 GATE  score had been  required  to take admission in Master’s programme in Pharmacy (M.pharma) .But it was very inconvenient to include pharmacy graduates in GATE 2010 due to large number of engineering candidates appearing for Gate Exam.Therefore, AICTE has decided to organize to conduct an examination in the name of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) effective  from academic year 2010-11. Previously syllabus of GPAT 2010 has been elaborated.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara will conduct  Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT 2010) for the first time as per AICTE letter (No. D.O. No. Acad/GPAT/2010 dated 02.12.2009).

GPAT important dates:

• GPAT application forms and information brochures would be issued  on 25^th January,2010 to 22^nd feb,2010 from Designated branches of Bank of Baroda in various cities (during the Bank timings) and will also available till 1^st March ,2010 at The M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara (11:00 am to 05:00 pm)

• 12th March, 2010 is the last date for receipt of completed OMR Application Form along with Pay-in slip at GPAT Offfice, The M.S.University of Baroda, Vadodara (upto 05:00 pm)
• Date of GPAT 2010 Exam: 2nd May 2010 (2:00 – 5:00 pm)
• Announcement of the result of GPAT 2010: 24th May 2010

Eligibilty Criteria:

Candidates who are  holding Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) or appearing in the Final year examination of B. Pharma (4 years after 10+2) in the year 2010 are eligible for GPAT 2010.

GPAT Paper Structure:

The GPAT-2010 examination consists  single paper of 3 hours duration containing 100 multiple choice objective-type questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only questions.. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer that is 1/3 (one-third) mark will be deducted. GPAT Exam  is similar to that of GATE 2009 Examination, where the candidate will mark the correct answer out of four options in an Optical Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening the appropriate bubble.

Like GATE  , GPAT 2010 score is valid for ONE YEAR from the date of announcement of the result.
