@ PRACHI,SAMEEK,DEEPAK: I have been a part of this university from MMM Engineering College, GKP(2007 passout). If you have GEN rank of near about 10k to 15k and no other quota then you stand chances of getting average ranked private colleges. Some colleges are listed below:
UCER, Allahabd; BBD, Lucknow;Indraprashta, Ghaziabad etc..
But i would suggest to get into the college that suits your location & habitats. If you want to stay in NCR region then get into any of the hyped Private colleges as i think it does not make a lot of difference to get into a good private college or an average private college. They both have same fee structure and same facilities. Private colleges are known for their good on campus recruitments but then again it depends on you on the whole so just get into a college which is approved by AICTE and study well to be amongst the top 10 students of your batch or atleast your branch.
If its your first attempt you can go for another one that is better than this as if u get any way close to 5k then you stand to get a good college. Anyways ALL THE BEST for your counselling.

@Rajesh: Try for any college that you get around your vicinity. If you are close to allahabad then try UCER but i am not sure whether you stand a chance for it. Only chance you have is the Quota and the fact that less number of people are turning up for the counselling.ALL THE BEST
@Prachi: Less chances for any Govt. Colleges but can get good Private Colleges like JSS, KIET, or BBD. This time things have been different as i have heard that around 200 students turned up when till 5000 rank holders were being called. Stick to the counselling till the end(Recounselling) and you may get a Govt. college as well. ALL THE BEST.
@PRAGATI: Pretty less chances of getting Govt. Colleges but same as above, may get good PVT college depending upon students who turn up for counselling. Try for colleges mentioned for Prachi and rest good colleges are Ajay Kumar Garg, Indraprastha.ALL THE BEST

@Anamika,Anmol,Prachi: See people, When you went for the first counselling you must have observed that what kinda colleges were available for a better rank. So its a simple calulation which has come by experience that you can get the college whose availability got closed at your rank. See thats a guess, you can lift yourself to one better college at the maximum in recounselling.
@Anmol Singhal: You may get MMMEC, gkp or IET,Lko in recounselling. Try choosing either of them coz they are better than KNIT.KNIT sultanpur is also a good college coz its government aided so its fees is lesser than pvt colleges. Fee Structure is around 35-40k Per annum. hostel is optional but i suggest you do take hostel as the entire Sultanpur area is not good to stay. College is nice (ofcourse not like its counterparts but OK)! Life is tough during rains as it is built on depressed land so its a li’l grumpy.
@Anamika: BIET is not a very good college(Personal Belief)as i doubt they have good Campus recruitments infact i think they have the poor campus recruitment than the PVT colleges like JSS and KIET. But i hope you might get MMMEC or IET so try for the recounselling and choose either of them. MMMEC, GKP is my college and has a good history of campus recruitment. I am a part of Wipro Technologies being a part of MMMEC. It is better than KNIT, Sultanpur and even Gorakhpur is a much better place than sultanpur.
I was also getting BIET jhansi in my first counselling but i dropped it for JSS noida, then i got MMMEC in recounselling which was definitely the better option.

weel see atul ipec is good college of course and for it if your acadmics are good till final yr you can get a package around 5lac from there coz this yr the avg package was 3.1 so can expect some more in next few years.
@Anamika:Recounselling requires same docs as counselling. Same procedure.
@atul: indraprastha is an average college. dont develop high expectations but it was good when IT was booming where as for now all colleges have pretty less placements.
@varsha: can get some govt college in recounselling, anyhow JSS is OK.
@ ALL: GUYS and GALS dont worry much about the placement stuff in any college as it depends on the real time situation of the firms who hire. Just study well (ofcourse u will be havin fun as well) and make every oppurtunity count that comes infront. I have seen so many people talking abt placement in colleges and stuff and then they flunk in their exams. So in the first two years do study with masti and in third year get a li’l more serious about the placement.

actually atul there is no fixed method t chage branch but if you get highest in your branch then there will be a merit list who else want to change there branch so if you are in merit list then you will definately be in. and it is also a very good branch you need to concentrate on your studies.

sir i want to know the procedure for the withdrawl of changing branch in 2nd year. I am doing b.tech biotechnology from uptu. I filled up the form for changing my branch to mechanical after the completion of my 2nd semester i.e my first year. Now as the results for branch change came very late, i want to continue my b.tech from the same branch i.e biotechnology, but my college administration is not ready to let me continue from biotechnology and they are saying that now nothing can be done. We have faxed the new list to uptu. Sir i want to know that is there any possible way to keep me continuing in biotechnology branch if i write a letter to the uptu. @pallav,welcome here you are right its not a gud idea to drop.You will surely get the college .but it will not be gud may be you can get colleges which are newly established but go for it.And wait for 2nd counselling becoz in first counselling you will not get gud colleges .but in 2 nd counselling there are the chances.and one more thing fill the registration form of most of the colleges situated in gzb and greater noida.If in the end if their seats are not full they can take you in management quota without any fee.

@abcd,Donation is so high in JSS for management Quota .It wil be approx 7 to 8 lakh according to branch.Its better get admission through counselling.you can quiet good college.

Now Sir my question is that without thinking of dropping this year what option for B.Tech admission should be considered.
