@herman,welcome here there is no way to directly enter into marine engineering branch in WEST BENGAL or UTTAR PARDESH respectively from the 2nd year or from 2nd semester onwards .It can be only possible when branch marine engg is available in your college and for the branch change you have to score very well in your first year (above 75%) then you will be able to change your branch.

you should prepare the whole course of PCM throughly for UPTU as getting in top 10 is not that tough but you muct have speed to solve problems .
the problems are quite basic but need the formulae byheart .
